"Out beyond ideas of wrong doing and right doing,
there is a field. I will meet you there."

Rumi, 13th century Persian poet

Philosophy

Clients new to counseling sometimes express feeling guilty or selfish focusing on themselves. The message is, "Things aren't that bad. I should be able to handle it, right?" In my experience however, self care through attention to one's wellbeing is not selfish, but is in fact a responsible form of social activism.

When we learn to move through the world from a place of meaningful reflection, self-compassion, and conscious choice making, we not only begin to appreciate and enjoy our own lives more, but we also often notice a ripple effect in our relationships.

You may notice people beginning to resonate with your clearer energy and self awareness. Some of them may even get curious and interested in making healthy changes themselves!

Counseling with me is a contemplative, collaborative, creative process that gets to the essence of the places you get stuck. The work may not always be easy, but as Ghandi said, we must be the change we wish to see in the world.
